LO1 PROOF

LO1 - Isle of Wight Festival

Purpose

The purpose of the Isle of White Festival logo is to help advertise and promote the Isle of White Festival. The way that this has been achieved is creating a logo that advertises a music festival with the feeling that the particular event is trying to create. The way they have marketed this is by placing the logo on everything related to the campaighn wether its a program for the Festival or a plain simple poster or even a T-shirt, and even a bag. The good thing about advertising a music festival that is on the scale of the Isle of White Festival is the fact that you are considered quite a power house in the world of festivals which can allow yourself to promote your event as it has quite a backlog of history in the world of music so it practically promotes itself. Also every person that ever sees this logo will have been exposed to the advertising and will know that the Isle of White Festival is coming up and when it will be. The purpose of a poster is to grab someones eyes with bright, appealing colours and have the main idea of the festival all over it which is something that Isle of White Festival have done quite well. The connotation of this appears to be a gathering, friendly place where music is performed with big popular artists in the music world.

Format

The format for the
Isle of White Festival is on a varied level of products. Like Doc Fest they seem to have plastered their logo all over as many products as possible, it is on posters, tickets, programs for the event, and a few T-shirts can be found online and are available at the event as well as bags and many other different products. Every single thing that it is seen on is part of promoting it, the person may wear one of their T-shirt because it has a logo and that may remind them of their time there, but in reality the logo is only there to promote the event that is the tramlines.

Content

There isn't a lot of white space around the text and logo within the
Isle of White Festival. The use of ledding on this is very tight due to the fact that all the letters are fairly close together, and is touching the actual logo itself. The reasoning behind this is because the words have quite a lot of letters in them so using tight ledding will make it easier to place this logo onto any desired products. As the campaign's main focus is to inform new people about the event, or help people who are already going, and to basically relay the information in a sufficient, clear way. Which this logo achives, making the words easy to understand is a vital part of relaying this message to an audience. The juxtaposition between this logo and the others is that there is only one main colour that they focus on, that colour being the colour pink.

Style

The typography on this is very much the same on each product they have decided to place their logo on. This typography could be considered as a housestyle purely due to the fact that they have used the same font throughout. A fair ammount of anchorige is on this due to the fact that they use the colours pink a lot throughout all of their branding and on a lot of the products that they release, this will obviously result in the user associating the event or product with the
Isle of White Festival just by a glance and at the extremely detailed art and the almost iconic typography, which creates a unique look that people will notice and automatically associate with the festival.

Layout

The layout throughout the
Isle of White Festival promotional campaign is very similar all the way throughout the marketing that they have decided to use. The main colours which are used during the campaign are pink and include a lot of detailed art. Something that I think has been done to escape the stereotype of standing in a field for about 6 hours and instead making it more about the art of music. Which is something that the logo and promotional campaign showcases. The idea behind having associated colours behind a marketing campaign is to make the audience familiar with the event that you are trying to promote with just a quick glance, also the colour that the Isle of White Festival use stand out quite a bit because they aren't just plain colours, especially with the use of the primary colours as it helps break up the gloomy/ raw feeling that a person may get while looking at some plain black and white text that says 'Isle of White Festival'. The use of white space isn't that much, the only actual white space that a person viewing this is so little only due to the fact that the words used are rather large so the way that they have to make it all fit in is by using a lot of space. The way that the Isle of White Festival are hosting this and hence promoting this event. I do like the way that the layout is very similar to Doc Fest in the way that it has been layer out with the logo and words all written down and almost incorporated together.

Target Audience

The target audience for all of these are people that enjoy music festivals and also people that live in the Isle of Wight.  The word 'Festival' is all over the campaign just to advertise what this event is going to be, and considering that the
Isle of White Festival is a trusted festival they will presume that they are targeting people that have hard of them just so people may think that this Festival will live up to some sort of quality and standards. I would say that an ABC1 audience would be the prime audience for the Isle of White Festival due to the fact that you would need a disposable income to spend on trivial things such as a music festival.

Regulatory Bodies

All the forms of advertising don't cause offense, or give false information throughout the doc fest campagihn. The information on all these pieces are correct, which is important when advertising a product as this can't cause any sort of legal issues for the company. Also this advertising does not glorify alchol, sexual activity or any sort of drug taking which will help avoid the company any form of legal issues. Also this form of advertising does not require any form of disclaimer warning the person about any false hoods, or things they would rather not bring to the fore front of their product. The Advertising Standards Authority, basically sort out any company that is advertising and being out of order, they don't enforce law, but their opinions are highly influential on what gets shown to the public. And obviously the Isle of Wight Festival
advertising methods are fine.

LO1 - V Festival

Purpose

The purpose of the V Festival logo is to help advertise and promote the V festival as well as the company Virgin Media, the way that this has been achieved is by creating a logo on everything related to the campaign whether it’s a program for the festival or a plain simple poster. The good thing about being a company such as Virgin Media is you are considered quite a power house in the world of media which can allow you to promote your ‘extra curricular’ esc money making schemes on platforms you specialise in. Then every person that ever sees the logo will be exposed to the advertising and will know about the V Festival and when it will be.  The purpose of a poster is to grab someone’s attention. This has been achieved on the Virgin Media poster with bright, appealing colours and have the main idea and theme they are trying to promote their brand as which appears to be a friendly gathering, where music is performed by popular and successful artists.
